I prepped my fur and went to the buyers.
I was 21 rats short of my goal so I was rather certain I wasn't going to to hit my dollar amount goal. Surprisingly, I did. The buyer said my rats were about as good as it gets and there wouldn't be much grading. When all was said and done, I couldn't have been more happy. $8 a rat, it pays to put them up, literally.
Now, with enough money to cover my bear taxidermy, maybe if I keep going to seasons end I could pay for my fish also. I know, I know, I thought I was done also. Even put everything away. I've been going 100 mph ever since bear baiting and this last Friday I came to a complete stop. I was bored as hell in 5 minutes. Far too windy for callin' yotes, so I decided to put some traps out.
I can't stand it when I could be out doing something, and I'm not. I've got two more weekends of rat season left. I really want to hit my 150 ice rat goal. I'm very much out of huts though, it's going to be tough. Got the wheeler back up and running so I have to hope I can get to a few with that still. I did manage to pick up 9 more rats this weekend. Did some resetting and experimenting with very poor results. I need fresh huts.
Just to make this a bit more difficult throw in a shoulder injury. Not sure what I did or how I did it, but I have little to no range of motion with my right arm. The pain is, well, unexplainable when I try to move it. All the different things I've been taking for it and trying not to miss work has landed me feeling extremely sick. I had to leave work today, due to the pain and vomiting. My rat goal is so close, yet seems so far. Cliche, I know.
Will I hit my goal?
