Yep, the title says it all.
A lot of thing came into play on this decision. For example, fresh huts, deteriorating ice in vegetation, a wheeler break down, and, yes I know, cry me a river. Don't get me wrong, that's trappin', or anything else for that matter.
I also don't want to wait and sell my fur into march. Hopefully by the weekend all my fur will be up and dry enough for sale.
With all the overtime I've been having to work it has really cut down on my check days. For the few days my traps have been able to sit inside of huts since Christmas, I'm happy. I did not hit my goal, but I gave it one hell of a run. If I finished out the season, I'm sure I could grind it out, but the decision has been made. I will be selling 129 pelts, 21 short of my goal. I have had one of the funnest January's I can remember, thanks to the furballs and Mother Nature for chillin' out on the snow fall this year. Thank you for that!
So, now what? Perhaps a little dog huntin', late ice fishing, hmmmm...
